Job Description

If you are seeking an opportunity to show off your baking skills, be challenged with creating new offerings frequently, and being part of any team focused on creating customer experience, you may be the right person to join Torra. Opening for a Baker with an emphasis in pastries and small desserts. Specialty dining environment with expanding services, requires solid decorative skills and the ability to bake sweet and savory items with additional cooking skills to prepare other limited menu items. The Baker is responsible to collaborate with Owner, to ensure bakery prepared items are ready to meet variable, expanding and special service needs including ingredient inventory management and contribution to creative ideas that elevate brand and service.
Required skills:
  • Baking and Cooking in a commercial kitchen,
  • Current food handlers permit,
  • Baking pastry, cookies, candies and cakes including decorating
  • added bonus to have skills in mini dessert prep.
  • Ingredient preparation and storage
  • General cooking skills utilizing both oven and stove top.
  • Experience with receivables and inventory management
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate and adhere to safe food handing practice and commercial kitchen regulatory standards
  • Prepares quality baked and cooked menu items efficiently
  • Designs, executes and improves recipes
  • Performs quality checks on ingredients and finished products
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking
  • Prepare baked and cooked menu items
  • Uses icing, glazes, fillings and decorations to enhance item presentation
  • Processes orders from customers utilizing
POS TOAST
for drive thru, in house and on line orders
  • May participate in preparation and assembly of sandwiches and salads including garnishments and service
  • Daily open and/or closing of kitchen
  • Ensures high standards of sanitation and organization
  • Maintains a clean cooking environment, including equipment cleaning and baking/cooking ware washing.
