Little River Bread Co. About the Role We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated baker who is comfortable working independently in a commercial bakery environment. This position is focused primarily on loading, managing, and baking prepped products in commercial deck ovens, while also assisting with prep, cleaning, and occasional retail sandwich production support. The ideal candidate has prior baking or food production experience, understands the importance of consistency and timing, and can work efficiently during early morning production shifts. Responsibilities Load, score, steam, bake, and unload prepped bakery products using commercial deck ovens Monitor bake times, product quality, and oven performance throughout the shift Follow production lists, timing standards, and bakery procedures Assist with basic food prep, ingredient handling, and product organization Follow food safety standards, including time and temperature control procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area Wash dishes, clean equipment, and assist with end-of-shift cleaning tasks Provide occasional support for retail sandwich production as needed Communicate clearly with team members about production needs, issues, or shortages Qualifications Prior commercial baking, bakery production, or food prep experience preferred Sourdough and/or Laminated Pastry Experience Preferred Comfortable operating or learning to operate commercial deck ovens Familiar with food safety practices, including time/temperature control standards Self-motivated and able to stay on task without constant supervision Reliable and able to work early morning shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM Must be 18 years or older Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to stand for 6+ hours during a shift Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and cleanliness We use spreadsheets and a digital interface for recipes. Experience is not required but preferred. Ideal Candidate This role is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on bakery work, takes pride in consistent product quality, and can be trusted to manage important parts of the production flow. We are looking for someone dependable, practical, and comfortable working early mornings in a small but growing bakery.
