The RoleKyra's Bake Shop is looking for a skilled and dependable Lead Baker to oversee daily back-of-house production while working alongside the team in a hands-on leadership role.

You'll help guide production, maintain quality standards, support team development, and keep the kitchen organized and moving efficiently.

This role reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Typical schedule is Wednesday Sunday, approximately 5:00 AM 1:00 PM.ResponsibilitiesProduction & BakingExecute daily production with precision and consistencyPrepare doughs, batters, fillings, and baked goods according to recipe standardsMonitor product quality throughout the shiftAssist with pastry finishing, frosting, and assembly as neededMaintain clean, organized workstationsOperate bakery equipment safely and efficientlyProduction LeadershipOrganize workflow and assign tasks during productionEnsure recipes and techniques are followed correctlyMaintain product quality and consistency standardsCorrect issues before they impact productionSupport and coach newer team membersHelp maintain a calm, focused kitchen environmentThe Lead Baker has authority to pause production, correct technique, and reject products that do not meet quality standards.

Operational SupportMaintain prep lists, production logs, and par sheetsAssist with ingredient ordering and inventory checksMonitor ingredient levels and kitchen organizationMaintain sanitation and allergen safety standardsCommunicate equipment or maintenance concerns to managementQualificationsMinimum 3 years of baking experience in a high-volume scratch kitchenLeadership experience preferredStrong pastry fundamentals and attention to detailAbility to work cleanly, efficiently, and calmly under pressureComfortable with early morning shiftsAbility to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsStrong communication and organizational skillsGluten-free baking experience is a plus, but we are happy to train the right candidate.
