Assistant Branch Manager
EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Full-Time.FLSA STATUS
Exempt Position Summary The assistant branch manager is responsible for participating in the efficient daily operation of the branch office, including operations, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with the Bank's objectives. Along with the branch manager provides a superior level of customer service and promotes the service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation. Supervises branch teller and CSR functions, and performs customer service duties. Must also be familiar with IRA services and banking products and services. Also responsible for customer transactions and account opening administration.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice. Management may assign new duties, reassign existing duties, or eliminate a function.- Provide supervision with the day to day operational functions of the branch including vault and teller drawer balancing, overseeing teller and customer service duties; and assisting with customer transactions.
- Approve customer and bank transactions within authority limits.
- Be knowledgeable about all deposit, business, and consumer loan products.
- Monitor proper teller and vault cash levels including ordering coin and currency.
- Assist the manager to supervise, coach, and develop staff regarding service expectations, policies, procedures, products, systems and banking transactions.
- Maintain good public relations with customers and the community.
- Greeting customers, directing them to the appropriate area of the branch and ensuring customer needs are met.
- Managing difficult situations with customers and providing them with a resolution, information or additional options. Ensure that quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained.
- Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flow.
- Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
- Be well organized and pay close attention to detail. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills to effectively uncover and resolve complex customer and employee issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees.
- The position requires a perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the incumbent must be sensitive to Bank needs, customer and employee goodwill, and the public image.
- Proven success in customer service and in the development of strong customer relationships.
- Knowledge of all types of banking services, including consumer lending and consumer loan underwriting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure as needed.
- The ability to make sound decisions. This may include making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and high degree of accuracy.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently.
- Aptitude for figures; fundamental arithmetic.
- Willingly participates in bank training, including security, sales and service training. Successful completion of required compliance related training within prescribed timelines.
- Exhibits punctuality, and minimal absenteeism.
- In compliance with all regulations and bank policies related to job duties.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift coin bags or boxes, which can weigh up to 30 pounds, and transport as needed for customers or teller area, vault settlements or shipments.
- Must be able to lift and reach above shoulder height to operate teller pass through window.
- Requires manual dexterity to quickly and accurately count and verify currency or coin.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard or mouse, typewriter and various equipment.
Job Requirements:
Recognizing and maintaining confidentiality of work materials and issues. Ability to operate standard office equipment and follow office methods, rules, and policies. Understanding and carrying out verbal and written directions. Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. Ability to pay attention to details and be organized. Ability to project a professional image over the phone and in person. Regular Full-time position - paid either based on weekly salary or hourly rate for a schedule based on a regular 40 hour work week. Your regularly scheduled days of work will be between Monday-Saturday, depending on the requirements of the branch and its hours of operation. Hours of work will be scheduled to meet the staffing requirements of your branch or department, with a target minimum of 37.50 hours worked per work week. Although a branch employee may be assigned to a branch office on a regular working basis, they may be assigned to work at any branch office at any time as staffing needs require. Working hours for branch locations may start as early as 8:00 AM and may end as late as 6:15 PM Monday through Friday, and 8:30 AM through 12:15 PM on Saturdays. Branch hours of operation are subject to change by management. Work Conditions Branch staff work in a typical retail branch environment where customers are mainly individuals and local business people. Branch managers and customer service staff are normally assigned to a desk workstation. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Three to five years business services experience required with specific knowledge in banking and branch operations preferred. Ability to speak and understand fluent English is required. Prior branch banking CSR experience preferred.Job Type:
