Job Description

This Operations Specialist position supports the daily operations of the Bank and helps ensure the effective functioning of electronic banking and payment systems. The role is responsible for maintaining the Bank's ACH environment and assisting with day‑to‑day electronic banking activities, including online banking, mobile banking, mobile deposit, and ACH transactions. The position provides customer service and support to both internal staff and external customers by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to electronic banking and payment services. Under general supervision, the Banking Operations Specialist performs assigned daily duties in compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This position also participates in the Saturday receptionist rotation as scheduled. Duties and Responsibilities Understand and assist customers with business online enrollment and business online banking products: ACH Manager, Wire Manager, and merchant deposit capture. Process/Review and understand remote deposit capture including merchant deposit capture and mobile consumer capture. Perform annual merchant audit Assist retail and business customers with online banking enrollment, navigation, troubleshooting, and general support (including password resets and access-related questions in accordance with bank procedures). Support customers with mobile banking and mobile deposit services, including reviewing common errors and providing guidance on acceptable deposits and funds availability practices. Monitor and maintain ACH originator files and related records. Process ACH payroll files and ACH transactions accurately and timely. Review and analyze multiple ACH‑related director and system reports to identify exceptions and potential issues. Maintain ACH logs, including stop payments, returns, Notifications of Change (NOCs), and unauthorized transactions. Prepare and maintain the ACH Manager Transfers report. Create and process ACH originator manual billing. Perform ACH audits and Merchant Deposit audits/reviews to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies and applicable regulations. Serve as backup coverage for the job functions of the additional Operations Specialist, Debit Card Specialist, and Staff Accountant, including completing time-sensitive tasks to maintain continuity of operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ year of experience in bank operations, retail banking, electronic banking support, or a related financial services role. Working knowledge of online banking and mobile banking concepts and common customer support scenarios. Ability to interpret procedures, follow detailed processes, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn core banking and ancillary systems. Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or higher in business, finance, accounting, or a related field. Experience with ACH processing/monitoring, debit card operations, merchant deposit review, and/or operational auditing. Experience supporting both business and retail banking customers. Relationships Responsible to the AVP, Operations for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities. Will have extensive contact with customers and will conduct relationship in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing efforts of the bank. Will be called upon from time to time to participate with the community organizations and in community projects.
