Job Description

What You Will Be Doing:
Our professionals are the most important resource in our service commitment to our customers. We nurture a progressive environment where challenging, empowered, and purposeful work is celebrated. Our Banquet Captains manage and execute the setup, cleanup, maintenance, and breakdown of all banquets, weddings, meetings, and events at The Marq Southlake. This position also assists the Special Events Coordinator in setting up, implementing, and breaking down for city-wide special events. This is accomplished by delivering outstanding guest service in accordance with the established standards.
Other functions include:
Customer Service:
Understands and applies the principles of quality customer service by responding promptly to customer needs and requests; responding and resolving difficult and sensitive customer inquiries and complaints; communicating and working with other city departments; and working with customers to understand business requirements, analyze current applications, and develop/implement custom solutions to meet their needs using current development technologies or provide new platform recommendations.

Attention to
Detail:
Performs tasks with care and is thorough. Checks work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Compare the final work product to what is expected to find inconsistencies or errors. Remains aware and takes care of details that are easy to overlook or dismiss as insignificant.
Facility Operations:
Maintains the quality and satisfaction of event and meeting spaces. Cleans and sets meeting rooms, outdoor amphitheater, and banquet/event functions per specifications. Maintains proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, presentation podiums, and supplies. Anticipates and addresses guest needs during meetings and events by removing trash, restocking clean service ware and linens, straightening chairs, and replenishing refreshments. Monitors and maintains service corridors, pre-function spaces, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and unobstructed manner. Restocks linens and supplies in storage rooms as necessary and maintains storage rooms in a clean and organized manner.
Availability:
