BANQUET COOK OPPORTUNITY AT THE SHORE AND COUNTRY CLUB
The Shore and Country Club is currently seeking an experienced Banquet Cook to join our culinary team. This position requires evening, weekend, and seasonal availability. The Banquet Cook reports directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and is responsible for the preparation, execution, and presentation of food for all banquet events, member functions, weddings, and special occasions. This role requires strong organization, consistency, and the ability to execute high-quality food on a large scale while maintaining Club standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: Prepare and cook menu items for banquet events according to function sheets and Chef direction. Assist with prep, cooking, and plating for large-scale events, ensuring consistency and quality. Maintain organization and cleanliness of banquet kitchen areas, stations, and storage spaces. Assist with setup and breakdown of banquet kitchen and service stations before and after events. Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures at all times. Communicate effectively with the culinary team to ensure smooth and timely execution of events. Assist in monitoring inventory and preparing items in advance of scheduled functions. Support plated, buffet, and station-style service as required by each event. Uphold consistency, timing, and presentation standards under high-volume conditions.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience as a cook in a banquet, hotel, country club, or high-volume kitchen environment. Strong understanding of prep organization, batch cooking, and timing for large events. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills and ability to take direction in a structured kitchen environment. Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong communication skills. Culinary training is a plus, but not required. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the Club's operating season. Passion for hospitality and executing high-quality food for events and special occasions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
