Full Job Description About This Job:
As a Banquet Houseman at the Trumbull Marriott Shelton, you play a vital role in creating memorable event experiences. You are responsible for setting up and maintaining banquet rooms to meet the highest standards of quality and service. Your work directly contributes to the success of events and the satisfaction of our guests.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes precise banquet setups according to event orders and diagrams. Arranges rooms and spaces to maximize functionality and aesthetic appeal. Prepares event spaces, ensuring all elements are in place before guests arrive. Maintains a clean and organized banquet environment, including storage areas. Provides excellent customer service by responding to guest and client requests promptly and professionally. Sets tables with attention to detail , ensuring proper placement of linens, silverware, and glassware. Arranges chairs and seating according to specified layouts, ensuring comfort and accessibility. Handles heavy lifting of equipment and supplies, adhering to safety guidelines. Works collaboratively with the banquet team to ensure seamless event execution. Manages time effectively to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in banquet setup or event services is an asset.
Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates knowledge of banquet setup procedures and standards. Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills. Exhibits excellent customer service and communication skills. Understands the importance of teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a hotel or banquet setting. Certification in safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
