Overview Established downtown Morristown craft beer/IPA venue seeks a dynamic and energetic Restaurant/Bar Manager. This role will oversee daily food/beverage operations,(front and back of house) ensuring exceptional customer service and presentation of food/beverage. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and beverage management, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of service, quality, safety, and efficiency driving sales. Responsibilities Manage daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring smooth service flow and high standards of product preparation and presentation. Supervise staff including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and progressive discipline when necessary of team members to foster a motivated and professional workforce; this includes Bartenders, BarBacks, Servers and Host/Hostess; Line Cooks, Prep Cooks and dishwashers. Oversee food/beverage preparation, presentation, and quality control to uphold standards of excellence Ensure compliance of state and local liquor laws, health codes and sanitary regulations. Utilize POS systems (Toast) for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation. Make changes to POS items and prices as required. Control food/beverage inventory levels through effective stock management, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in kitchen, bar and dining areas. Management activities including scheduling, task delegation and professionally resolving guest concerns promptly. Participate in food and liquor inventory as needed. Assist in development of food/beverage menus, specials and promotions. A focus on creating digital media content. Participate in developing events, programs and/or incentives that builds patron loyalty and increases business volume. Qualifications Proven experience in restaurant management with a strong background in food/beverage service management, supervising staff, and hospitality operations. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking processes, and food handling safety protocols. Familiarity with POS systems; (Toast) cash handling, reconciliation and theft detection is essential. Demonstrated ability to manage inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis within a food/beverage service environment. Prior experience in casual dining, bar establishments; catering experience is a plus. Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire, train and coach staff effectively and apply progressive discipline when needed to foster a positive team environment. Additional Ability to work varied schedule that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays Conflict resolution skills, problem solving skills and strong interpersonal communication skills are required Ability to achieve success as an individual as well as working collaboratively.
