Job Description We are building a pipeline of exceptional faculty candidates with a passion for innovative medical education and collaborative teaching. Faculty at our institution play a central role in educating future physicians across a three-semester academic year , with new classes admitted each semester and teaching activities continuing year-round. We seek engaging, student-focused educators who thrive in a team-based academic environment, are committed to continuous improvement in medical education, and are eager to contribute to an integrated, clinically relevant curriculum. Opportunities for scholarship and research exist, particularly in medical education . Role Summary Successful candidates will deliver high-quality, innovative instruction in neuroscience , integrating foundational concepts across organ systems and clinical disciplines. Faculty are expected to work closely with medical students to support mastery of medical knowledge and the development of clinical competencies, while collaborating with academic leadership to advance curricular excellence. Key Responsibilities In collaboration with Module Course Co-Directors and the Chair of Basic Medical Sciences , faculty will: Develop and maintain integrated neuroscience course syllabi and content Ensure instruction reflects current concepts tied to real-world clinical scenarios Create clinically relevant, integrated examination questions Design and implement new cross-disciplinary integrative exercises Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records Complete additional curriculum-related duties as assigned Comply with all institutional policies, procedures, and standards
Additional Faculty Expectations:
Attend a minimum of one professional conference annually for curriculum enhancement and/or presentation of research Maintain regular office hours and be readily available to students Foster strong advisor/advisee relationships and provide academic advising Serve on academic committees as needed Contribute to community outreach and/or student-centered research initiatives
Qualifications Required:
PhD, MD, MBBS, or equivalent terminal degree Demonstrated ability to integrate neuroscience across medical systems Minimum 3-4 years of teaching experience in a medical school environment Familiarity with USMLE-style assessment Documented record of teaching effectiveness Ability to translate foundational concepts into clinically relevant applications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English Strong interest in mentoring and working closely with medical students Flexibility and ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based academic setting Willingness to reside in St.
Maarten Preferred:
