Beach Lifeguards play an essential role in daily beach operations by actively monitoring waterfront conditions, enforcing safety procedures, and maintaining clean and organized facilities. This role supports the Village's Arts & Athletics program, held Monday through Friday from 2:15-4:15 p.m. for children ages 7-12, while also ensuring the safety of all beach and park visitors. Lifeguards act as positive role models, assist with organizing activities, maintain communication with staff and parents, and help create a safe, fun, and educational environment.

Highlights of Position:

Beach Lifeguards with the Village of Maple Bluff have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership, decision-making, and emergency response skills while maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming beach environment. Responding to emergencies with appropriate rescue techniques and first aid further develops confidence, critical thinking, and a strong sense of responsibility. By supervising the Arts & Athletics program, Beach Lifeguards develop strong leadership, organization, and group management skills while guiding participants through activities. Through consistent, positive communication with participants, families, and staff, Lifeguards enhance their interpersonal and communication skills while serving as positive role models who embody Integrity, Compassion, Trust, and Dedication.
