Job Description

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is tackling big challenges in beef production, blending cutting-edge research with practical solutions to help producers thrive. The Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art, commercial-scale feedlot research center located at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center close to Fremont, Ashland, and Wahoo, NE and just 30 minutes from Omaha and Lincoln. As a Beef Systems Technician (Temporary), you will: Be responsible for the care of cattle at the Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center and Beef Systems Unit. Perform tasks associated with daily feeding and animal health. Assist with general construction and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Assist graduate students with research trials. Perform other duties as assigned. In the UNL system, this position is categorized as O/S Temp Hourly. In the livestock industry, this position may be referred to as a herdsman, feedlot hand, or cowboy.
