Title:
BEEP DirectorDescription:
Position Overview The BEEP Director oversees daily operations of the BOCES Early Education Program, with direct responsibility for the safety, licensing compliance, education, and administration of a birth-through-five childcare program. This is a working director role — in addition to administrative responsibilities, the director provides daily classroom coverage, manages staff, processes enrollment, and maintains hands-on visibility in the program every day. The director develops program policy, manages budget, leads curriculum, and serves as the primary contact for staff, families, and licensing. Director must qualify as an eligible driver for field trips, including passing a drug test and required insurance screening. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Daily Operations and Classroom Coverage- Provide morning drop-off coverage and classroom support until all scheduled staff have arrived.
- Cover classrooms when staff are absent or on break; create and manage the daily lunch coverage schedule.
- Pick up, label, and deliver food from the kitchen to all classrooms; check and document refrigerator temperatures daily.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs; maintain visible, accessible presence in the program throughout the day. Licensing and Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain full compliance with Wyoming Child Care Licensing (CCL) requirements at all times.
- Maintain STARS personnel files for all staff, including CCL Form 205 for new hires and CCL Form 611 for visiting therapists and specialists.
- Communicate directly with the Child Care Licensor to address inspection findings and resolve compliance issues.
- Maintain the Emergency Preparedness Plan; ensure all posted documentation is current and accurate.
- Ensure all staff maintain required certifications; coordinate training and renewal proactively. Enrollment Management and Family Communication
- Maintain and update the enrollment waitlist; contact prospective families promptly to schedule enrollment.
- Process tuition payments and DFS payment approvals
- Manage Brightwheel platform communications throughout the day; respond to parent messages in a timely manner.
- Update summer and fall enrollment spreadsheets on an ongoing basis. Curriculum, Education, and Student Assessment
- Oversee developmentally appropriate curriculum across all three classrooms — infant, toddler, and preschool/pre-K.
- Collaborate with the school district Early Learning Liaison, literacy consultant, and coaching staff; implement recommended practices.
- Conduct student assessments; document and analyze data to inform instruction and report outcomes.
- Coordinate Learning Center screenings for new and prospective students. Personnel Management and Staff Development
- Hire, supervise, schedule, evaluate, and develop all BEEP staff across all four classrooms.
- Maintain complete personnel files in compliance with licensing and BOCES requirements.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with lead teachers and assistant director; provide documented coaching and feedback.
- Address staff concerns and performance issues promptly; build and sustain a positive team culture. Administration, Budget, and Marketing
- Maintain regular communication with the BOCES Director on all major decisions and operational matters.
- Develop and submit the annual BEEP budget proposal; monitor revenues and expenses throughout the year.
- Coordinate supply orders, vendor relationships, and external partnerships including field trips and CPR training.
- Submit weekly program photos and content for BOCES marketing; collaborate with marketing staff on enrollment outreach.
- Prepare the weekly family email newsletter; maintain organized records accessible for licensing inspections at all times.
Received:
Direct supervision from the BOCES Executive Director. Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision; major decisions require regular communication with the Director.Exercised:
Supervises all BEEP staff including full-time, part-time, and substitute teachers. The BEEP Assistant Director reports to the BEEP Director.Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree, CDA credential, or at least two years of experience in early childhood education or a closely related field.
- Minimum one year of experience in early childhood education; administrative or leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in basic software and ability to learn program-specific platforms (Brightwheel, STARS).
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment in handling confidential staff, student, and family information.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Wyoming CCL requirements and STARS documentation.
- Experience with Brightwheel or similar early childhood communication platforms.
- Budget management or financial oversight experience.
