Job Description

A nonprofit organization in Dutchess County is seeking a Behavior Specialist to provide services to adults in a dayhab setting. The Behavior Specialist provides direct, person‑centered behavioral services across all areas of the Clinical Program, including consultation services as needed. Behavioral services include behavior support planning, direct intervention, and skill development. This role also supports staff and families through training and ensures effective implementation of behavior support plans.
Job Function:
Maintains knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Conducts annual and ongoing behavioral and skills assessments. Develops, implements, trains on, and oversees behavioral and skills‑based support and intervention plans. Travel to other day programs as needed. Maintains effective data collection systems, including data analysis and data‑driven decision making. Provides clinical consultation to program staff related to participant behavior and environmental supports. Uses clear and effective communication to support collaboration and information sharing. Prepares participant‑ and program‑specific reports and documentation. Participates in training initiatives and professional development activities. Supervises and mentors staff participating in the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) program. Job Requirements Master's degree in psychology or a related human services field. Experience or certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred, but not required.
