Join our team in a new position to better support our residents! The Behavioral Specialist is responsible for overseeing the facility's Behavioral Program, ensuring compliance, support for the residents, and an opportunity for collaboration and work with our Interdisciplinary Team. This role provides assessment, monitoring, and support for residents with behavioral health needs, while collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team to implement effective, person-centered interventions and care plans.Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary coordinator and overseer of the Behavioral Health Program, ensuring all required components, documentation, and services are completed in accordance with state guidelines. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly behavioral assessments and evaluations to monitor resident status, identify trends, and ensure effectiveness of interventions. Develop, implement, and maintain individualized behavioral care plans aligned with program requirements and resident needs. Ensure all required documentation, tracking tools, and reporting for the program are accurate, complete, and survey-ready. Monitor staff compliance with behavioral interventions and provide education and coaching on appropriate behavior management techniques. Collaborate with nursing staff, social services, and the interdisciplinary team to support care planning, program compliance, and resident-centered outcomes. Assist in the review and monitoring of psychotropic medications, including documentation of effectiveness, side effects, and behavioral indications in accordance with regulatory expectations. Participate in care plan meetings, quality assurance activities, and audits related to behavioral health services and program compliance. Identify behavioral trends and recommend program improvements, staff training, or interventions to enhance resident outcomes. Ensure compliance with requirements, state survey standards, and federal regulations related to behavioral health services in long-term care settings.Qualifications:
Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or behavioral health services required. Strong understanding of behavior management, dementia care, and non-pharmacological interventions. Familiarity with psychotropic medication monitoring and regulatory expectations in nursing facilities. Strong organizational, documentation, and audit-readiness skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation systems.Similar remote jobs
