Job Description

Job Summary Behavioral Support Professional will provide behavioral intervention services to individuals with skill deficits and maladaptive behaviors and their families using principles of applied behavior analysis.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals with skill deficits and maladaptive behaviors.
  • Identify member needs and provide appropriate services.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member information.
  • Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop solutions, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with members, families, colleagues, supervisors, etc.
  • Listen attentively and accurately interpret verbal messages and ask appropriate questions.
  • Observe and strategize with Program Team members to formulate individuals behavioral intervention plans and strategies.
  • Understand the reactions of others and adjust behavior accordingly.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate and assist with planning of special programs and/or events.
  • May be required to transport members in the agency vehicles according to the organization's transportation policy.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in planning and implementing youth programs.
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
