Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Behavioral Health Residential Tech, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey toward mental wellness and recovery. This energetic position involves providing compassionate care, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment, and assisting clients with daily activities. Your dedication will help empower clients to achieve stability, independence, and improved quality of life in a structured residential setting. We are committed to paying all team members fairly for their valuable contributions, including interns. Responsibilities Provide direct support to residents by assisting with daily routines, personal hygiene, and medication management under supervision. Foster a positive and engaging environment that encourages emotional expression through activities such as art therapy and recreational programs. Monitor residents' behavior closely, intervening when necessary to de-escalate conflicts or manage challenging situations with patience and professionalism. Collaborate with clinical staff to implement individualized treatment plans that address each resident's unique needs, including gender issues counseling when appropriate. Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress, incidents, and daily activities in compliance with agency policies. Support residents in developing coping skills and social skills through structured activities and therapeutic interventions like art therapy. Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including emergency response procedures and environmental safety checks. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in behavioral health is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse populations. Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles is a plus, enabling better understanding of medication effects and side effects. Experience or training in art therapy techniques to facilitate creative expression among residents. Ability to handle gender issues counseling sensitively and effectively when required. Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, manage challenging behaviors, and promote a safe environment for all residents. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed.
