Behavioral Health Technician Suwanee, GA 30024 $16.50 - $18.50 an hour - Full-time $16.50 - $18.50 an hour - Full-time Job Description This position is responsible for providing direct client support services within the residential and/or behavioral health treatment environment. Responsibilities include client supervision, behavioral monitoring, transportation services, crisis intervention support, admissions assistance, drug screening procedures, documentation, and support of daily program operations. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) works collaboratively with clinical, medical, and operational staff to help ensure client safety, program structure, treatment engagement, and adherence to program expectations. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to maintain therapeutic boundaries within a recovery-oriented treatment environment. The Behavioral Health Technician is not responsible for providing clinical therapy services unless specifically credentialed, trained, and authorized within scope of practice.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Support and Behavioral Monitoring Responsible for supporting daily client activities, monitoring client behavior and participation, and maintaining a safe and structured treatment environment. Responsibilities Monitors client activities and maintains awareness of client location and program participation throughout assigned shifts. Ensures clients attend scheduled groups, individual sessions, medical appointments, drug screens, and program activities. Conducts routine client checks and documents observations according to agency policy. Assists in maintaining program structure, behavioral expectations, and client accountability. Utilizes verbal de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention support when appropriate. Reports safety concerns, behavioral concerns, medical concerns, or incidents to supervisory staff immediately. Provides professional, respectful, and supportive interactions with clients at all times. Assists clients with understanding program schedules, expectations, and daily responsibilities. Collaborates with treatment team members to support continuity of care and client engagement. Admissions and Client Orientation Responsible for assisting with admissions, intake procedures, orientation processes, and client transition into treatment services. Responsibilities Assists with intake and admission procedures for new clients as assigned. Conducts client orientation regarding program rules, schedules, expectations, and facility procedures. Completes intake documentation and required administrative forms within the electronic medical record system. Conducts personal property searches and bag checks in accordance with agency policy. Maintains professionalism and confidentiality during all admission interactions. Communicates admission information and client updates to appropriate staff members. Assists in facilitating orientation groups and introductory recovery programming as assigned. Client Logistics Responsible for supporting operational logistics associated with client care and program functioning. Responsibilities Maintains awareness of client appointments and program requirements. Follows agency safety policies and procedures at all times. Reports maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Assists with coordination of transportation and scheduling needs when appropriate. Documentation and Administrative Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and organized documentation related to client activities, incidents, and assigned operational duties. Responsibilities Completes shift reports, client observations, logistics logs, incident reports, and related documentation within required timelines. Maintains documentation within the electronic medical record system according to agency standards. Assists with answering incoming calls and communicating information appropriately. Ensures documentation is accurate, professional, and compliant with confidentiality standards. Assists with maintaining organized work areas and operational supplies. Participates in agency meetings, trainings, and supervisory processes as required. Internal Communication and Collaboration Responsible for maintaining effective communication with treatment team members and supporting coordinated client care and daily operations. Responsibilities Communicates effectively with clinical, medical, operational, and support staff. Reports significant client concerns, incidents, or behavioral changes promptly. Participates in shift change communication and team collaboration processes. Assists in supporting overall program operations and client care needs. Maintains professional working relationships with staff, clients, families, and outside providers. Professional Responsibility Responsible for adhering to agency policies, ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and professional conduct expectations. Responsibilities Adheres to all applicable federal, state, and agency regulations and policies. Maintains confidentiality in accordance withHIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, and agency standards. Maintains professional boundaries and ethical conduct at all times. Demonstrates reliability, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork. Participates in ongoing training and professional development activities. Performs additional duties as assigned within scope of position responsibilities.Pay:
