Education/Experience Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within a behavioral health, recovery residence, sober living, or psychiatric setting. Experience supporting client accountability, house structure, overnight safety, and documentation preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record Negative TB Test no more than sixty (60) days prior to or seven (7) days after employment with tuberculosis testing renewable every year First Aid and CPR Certification required no more than sixty (60) days after employment Up-to-date Influenza and COVID vaccine status (1-2 doses depending on vaccine type) and booster compliance or signing of declination form due to Religious Beliefs or Qualifying Medical Reasons Ability to lift 25 lbs and complete facility safety checks Understanding of or willingness to learn Joint Commission standards for transitional housing

None Basic Function:
The Behavioral Health Technician (Housing) plays a key role in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-supportive transitional living environment for adult clients attending outpatient treatment (PHP/IOP). This position provides client supervision during non-clinical hours, monitors behavior, enforces house rules and curfews, performs safety rounds and documentation, transports clients, and assists with the upkeep and functioning of the household environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct hourly safety rounds and curfew/morning headcounts to monitor client well-being and environment compliance Supervise client activity during overnight, evening, or weekend shifts and uphold house rules and schedules Monitor and document resident behaviors, curfew adherence, incident reports, and shift logs accurately and timely Conduct urine drug screens and breathalyzer tests in accordance with company policy Support clients in self-administering prescribed medications and ensure proper documentation of compliance Drive clients to recovery meetings, program events, or other approved activities using company vehicles Monitor and support completion of client chore assignments and daily responsibilities Perform general cleaning and sanitation of common areas and bedrooms as needed to maintain a safe and orderly living space Check grocery and household supply levels regularly and communicate restocking needs to supervisor Support program events, community outings, or holiday activities facilitated by the organization Respond to emergencies or behavioral escalations using trauma-informed and ethical approaches Participate in new resident orientation by reviewing house rules, expectations, and daily routines Communicate resident updates or concerns to the Program Director and clinical team promptly Attend operational team meetings as assigned Uphold safety, privacy, and professional boundaries at all times Maintain compliance with all HIPAA, Joint Commission, DHCS, and internal safety documentation requirements Engage in staff training and development activities to support ongoing job performance and quality care
Skills and Attributes:
Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and collected during client crises Proficiency with basic office software and EMR (KIPU) Comfortable supporting clinical staff and working with clients in a behavioral health setting Thank you for your interest!
