Job Description
Underhill Central School is seeking a full-time, energetic, and caring Specialized Assistant to support elementary-aged students with a range of academic, behavioral, and/or social-emotional needs. In this role, the Specialized Assistant will collaborate closely with special educators and classroom teachers to provide instructional and behavioral support, and to assist with a variety of activities that help students access their learning. This position works with a diverse group of learners and is an integral part of a creative, dedicated school team.
Qualified candidates will:
Enjoy engaging with students and supporting their growth Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships Successful candidates are reliable, flexible, and student-centered. The position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to stand and/or walk for extended periods while supporting students throughout the school day.
