Job Description
The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research (FSCDR) is a human-centric, community-driven organization leading the charge in innovative patient care, clinical treatments, and advocacy. We are seeking qualified a Certified Medical Assistant to assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing clinical and administrative duties, as assigned, including scanning, scheduling, data entry and patient registration. We are hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to serve in the following location: - Belle Glade, Florida (8:30am-5pm)

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations. Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment, instruments and cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations.
- Interview patients to obtain their medical history and assists physicians during examination by drawing blood, removing sutures, changing dressings, handing over instruments and materials, upon request.
- Schedule and perform routine screening tests, such as height and weight measurements and blood pressure checks.
- Monitor and communicate change in patient condition.
- Document patient care and provide discharge and follow-up instructions, as needed.
- Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment. Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning/disinfection per protocol.
- Assist in keeping the overall office clean by removing trash and sweeping, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Diploma and/or obtained from an accredited provider is a plus.
- CPR or BLS for the Healthcare Provider certificate issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist or in additional areas of patient health care in a clinical setting.
