We are looking for a Bilingual Accounting & Payroll Assistant (Korean/English) to join our team. This is a highly stable, long-term part-time position designed for a professional or an ambitious student who values a consistent schedule and a collaborative, high-standard office environment. Autonomous & Organized:
You thrive when given ownership of a project and can manage your own time and deadlines efficiently without constant hand-holding. Responsibilities 1. Bookkeeping & Financial Analysis Record financial transactions accurately using double-entry bookkeeping. Review, analyze, and categorize bookkeeping documents and expenses. Reconcile bank, credit card, and accounts payable/receivable records related to payroll. Assist with month-end/year-end closing processes and annual balance sheet reconciliations. 2. Filing, Reporting & Tax Compliance Execute time-sensitive payroll for clients and process associated tax deposits. Prepare and submit quarterly payroll tax reports and state/city sales tax reports. Process annual forms including W-2s, 1099s, and associated summaries. Ensure all filings strictly comply with governmental regulations and tax standards. 3. Client Communication & Office Support Respond to client inquiries (via email and phone) in a timely, polished, and professional manner. Provide consistent, proactive follow-up on active client cases. Maintain digital and physical file structures to ensure seamless workflow management.
Requirements & Qualifications Work Authorization:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. (We welcome current students with valid CPT/OPT authorization, but we cannot provide visa sponsorship).
Language Proficiency:
Korean:
Native or professional proficiency (80%-100%). Priority will be given to native Korean speakers.
English:
Conversational to fluent proficiency. Education & Experience (One of the following): Currently enrolled Accounting/Finance students with a GPA of 3.3 or higher. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates without a degree but with 2+ years of recent, direct experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of QuickBooks (full or partial management).
Microsoft Excel:
Proficient in formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, etc.), account analysis, and structured tables. Comfort with Windows OS, Microsoft Outlook, and standard office hardware. What Success Looks Like in
This Role Ownership:
You take 100% responsibility for your assigned client files from start to finish. A "Sharp Eye": You catch minor discrepancies and errors before they become compliance issues.
Deadline Integrity:
You respect client trust by ensuring 100% of filings are delivered exactly when promised.
