Job Description

Part-Time Position:
Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Habilitation Technician Are you looking for a meaningful part-time job where you can make a real difference in someone's life? At A Caring Heart Case Management , we are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Schedule:
School Year:
Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM•7:00 PM (after school hours)
Summer Schedule Options:
8:00 AM•2:00 PM 9:00 AM•3:00 PM Additional flexibility may be required based on program needs
Position Overview:
The person in this position will provide habilitation interventions, personal care, and/or respite services to individuals and their families. Services are delivered in accordance with the Person-Centered Plan or Individual Support Plan and documented in an electronic record.
Level of Care Required:
Assistance with transfers and personal hygiene Bathing, toileting, dressing, and oral care Support with activities of daily living (ADLs) May include total care support Experience with ambulatory/non-ambulatory individuals preferred Familiarity with adaptive equipment (e.g., Hoyer Lift) is a plus Experience supporting individuals with hearing or visual impairments is helpful
Behavioral Considerations:
Ability to support individuals who may experience behavioral challenges or crisis situations Must remain calm and effectively implement de-escalation strategies Provide consistent supervision to ensure safety at all times
Responsibilities:
Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, hygiene) Support skill development and independence Encourage social engagement and participation Monitor safety at all times Document daily activities and behaviors in electronic records Administer medications and monitor health conditions (if applicable) Provide supervision during recreational and community activities
Requirements:
Bilingual in Spanish (required) Dependable with a strong work ethic Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and safe driving record Ability to drive/operate wheelchair-accessible vans Confidence, patience, and emotional control in challenging situations Willingness to learn and apply crisis intervention strategies Must have state-minimum auto insurance Background check required
Preferred Experience:
