Bilingual Spanish speaking Teller / Member Service Representative 2711 West 15th Avenue, Emporia, KS 66801 $14.50 - $15.00 an hour - Full-time $14.50 - $15.00 an hour - Full-time Job Overview The Teller/Member Service Representative (MSR) serves as the front-line ambassador of the credit union, providing exceptional member service while performing a wide range of financial transactions. This role supports members by offering accurate information, processing transactions efficiently, and promoting credit union products and services that improve members' financial well-being. The MSR maintains a strong working knowledge of credit union policies and displays professionalism, accuracy, and care in all interactions. Fluent Spanish speaking is needed for this position. Key Responsibilities Member Service Greet members professionally and assist with account inquiries in person, by phone, or via digital channels. Provide accurate information on credit union products, services, policies, and account status. Educate members on digital banking tools and self-service options. Identify member needs and refer appropriate products or services such as checking, savings, and loans. Teller Transactions Process routine financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, transfers, money orders, and cashier's checks. Balance cash drawer daily with a high level of accuracy and compliance. Verify negotiable instruments and ensure proper identification and security procedures. Follow all cash-handling, security, and fraud-prevention policies. Account & Operational Support Open and maintain member accounts including checking, savings, certificates, IRAs, and specialty accounts. Assist with account maintenance such as address changes, check orders, stop payments, and card replacements. Support loan officers by gathering documentation, preparing forms, or scheduling appointments. Assist with branch operations, including ATM balancing, night drop processing, and vault duties as assigned. Compliance & Risk Management Adhere to all credit union policies, state and federal regulations including BSA/AML, OFAC, and privacy laws. Report suspicious activity appropriately. Maintain member confidentiality at all times. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior banking, credit union, or cash-handling experience preferred but not required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment and banking software. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to evolving member needs. Work Environment & Physical Requirements In-branch position with frequent interaction with members. Requires standing for extended periods during teller duties.
