Job Description
Sylvan Bio, a division of Sylvan Inc., is a global leader in the production of mycelial based products utilizing proprietary solid substrate fermentation technology. We produce high-value fungal-based products for use in a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. Sylvan Bio's products are used in markets as diverse as dietary supplements, animal health, plant health, crop protection, and industrial applications.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Bio Technicians report to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager of Bio and participate in manufacturing including - incubation, drying, bagging, stacking, inspecting, packing, grinding, blending, and moving a variety of fungal based and other related products including red yeast rice. This role requires the candidate to be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively with co-workers. The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, committed, hardworking, multi-functional, and self-motivated.EDUCATION, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or the equivalent DOT License, or willingness to obtain license Frequently climbing ladders Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide) Follow oral and written instructions Basic computer skills Forklift operation and/or hand pallet jack Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment Complete tasks as directed by production schedules and procedures within designated time frames Demonstrate the ability to perform required work processes Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with others Close attention to detail to identify deficient product or packaging Evaluate daily tasks to look for continuous improvement opportunitiesPhysical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.Work Environment:
the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals where protective gear will be required. This position requires frequent use of a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Candidate must be comfortable wearing PAPR.Shift:
The standard shift is M-F 6:00 am-2:00 pm. On occasion, weekends/overtime may be necessary.Benefits:
