Overview of Breakthrough Learning Center Breakthrough Learning Center is a private tutoring center with a strong emphasis on psychological learning concepts and the latest Common Core standards. We not only assist students with their schoolwork but also serve as mentors, helping them develop valuable lifelong skills. Breakthrough Learning Center offers academic support and a wide range of classes for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade, covering all subjects aligned with the California State Common Core Standards. We are actively seeking dedicated instructors who excel in specific subjects or can handle multiple subjects. Our instructors should possess the ability to provide direct instruction effectively, engage students, and adapt to diverse teaching situations. Breakthrough Instructors serve as role models, helping students unlock their full potential, fostering motivation, and inspiring them to work towards a successful future by building a strong educational foundation and essential life skills. We offer flexible and consistent part-time positions to accommodate your schedule. Job Description Deliver instruction to students based on assignments from their school or other academic disciplines. Academic Disciplines offered include K-12 Language Arts, Math, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Standardized Test Prep, AP Prep, and SAT Prep. Conduct one-on-one sessions, classroom sessions (with a maximum of five students), or closed group tutoring sessions. Coordinate and facilitate learning activities for students of all grade levels. Provide homework assistance to students at all grade levels. Collaborate with the Education Coordinator to develop robust curriculums and create customized supplemental materials for students. Familiarize yourself with Breakthrough's teaching methodology and implement new Common Core learning techniques. Work during morning, afternoon, and/or weekend hours. Job Qualifications Professional with a Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree. Proficiency in a variety of academic disciplines. Teaching experience is preferred. Ability to tailor lessons to match each student's learning style. Proficiency in breaking down complex concepts and conveying them effectively to students. Motivated, reliable, committed, and consistent individual who can connect with a diverse student population. Highly adaptable and versatile, with a deep passion for helping students achieve their goals. Strong communication skills and effective classroom management. Intuitive understanding developed through experience working with children and teenagers. Instructors should be attuned to the emotional, mental, and behavioral needs of students to create an optimal learning environment. Commitment to both summer and school-year tutoring sessions.
