  • Dix-Lakehurst Trenton NJ Description The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)
  • Level I is responsible for performing inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical and non-medical support equipment, including but not limited to medical package tools, generators, and environmental control units.
The BMET I ensures all work is conducted in compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidance, DoD instructions, applicable regulations, and unit directives. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures to maintain equipment reliability and operational readiness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Must follow original equipment manufacturer guidance, AFI, regulations and unit direction. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations. Diagnoses and troubleshoot malfunctions in medical devices, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with vendors for service when required. Maintain detailed service records, documenting repairs, maintenance actions, and performance evaluations. Assist in the installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper functionality. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel 10% to 25% Travel is required Work Schedule To be determined. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field, preferred. Must have graduated from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course, an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course, or the Planmecca digital dental course. Minimum 2 years of field experience in performing initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, general maintenance, and repair of medical equipment within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance. Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer sponsored visa. Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance. Salary $ 35.18/hour + $5.09 H&W (Health and Welfare) Hourly benefit Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
