Job Description

Position Summary Beisswenger's Hometown Ace Hardware is looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Bird Department Sales Associate to support daily operations within our bird and wildlife department. This role is responsible for helping customers select the right bird seed, feeders, houses, and wildlife products while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked department. The Bird Department Sales Associate plays an important role in creating an engaging shopping experience for customers who are passionate about bird feeding and backyard wildlife. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, stays organized, and takes pride in maintaining attractive displays and strong product knowledge.   • Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales
  • Greet and assist customers with bird seed, feeders, houses, and wildlife product selection
  • Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and seasonal trends
  • Answer customer questions regarding bird feeding, seed types, feeders, and wildlife care
  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service
  • Assist customers with loading merchandise when needed Department Operations
  • Stock shelves, displays, and overstock areas within the bird department
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing displays
  • Ensure products are properly priced, signed, and merchandised
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management
  • Assist with receiving and putting away freight related to the department
  • Help maintain seasonal displays and promotional merchandise Inventory & Merchandising
  • Rotate inventory and monitor product freshness where applicable
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Help identify slow-moving or damaged inventory
  • Maintain department standards for cleanliness and organization Team Support & Store Standards
  • Work collaboratively with all store departments
  • Follow company safety procedures and operational standards
  • Assist with general store maintenance and housekeeping tasks
  • Support additional operational tasks as assigned by management
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Prior retail, stocking, or customer service experience preferred
  • Interest or knowledge in birds, wildlife, or outdoor products is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stay organized and work independently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Basic computer and handheld device experience preferred
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout shifts
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Ability to safely handle inventory and equipment
