Internship description:
The Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Intern, supports the implementation of safety, environmental, and ergonomic initiatives within the organization. Under the guidance of our HSE Coordinator, the Intern collaborates with employees and management on related tasks, and contributes to continuous improvement of workplace safety programs. This is for our Summer Internship Program, starting June 3rd 2026 - August 21st 2026. Job Requirements
  • Assist with day-to-day health, safety, and environmental activities under the supervision of HSE staff
  • Support workplace safety inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to help identify potential hazards
  • Help document and track safety observations, incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions
  • Assist with maintaining HSE records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Support basic ergonomic assessments of workstations, tools, and tasks
  • Assist with preparation of safety training materials, presentations, and toolbox talks
  • Help communicate safety and environmental information to employees (posters, signage, emails)
  • Participate in HSE improvement projects or initiatives
  • Shadow HSE Coordinator during inspections, investigations, and assessments
  • Stay engaged with company safety culture and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated, driven, organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with sensitivity, and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and take a proactive approach to manage change.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, dynamic, and open office environment.
Professional Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and confidentiality are essential.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • This role is in-office / onsite, therefore requires reliable transportation to and from the office, Monday through Friday.
