Primary Purpose :
This position is responsible for the implementation, improvement and repair of the BMS control systems within the Facilities Controls department. Works under the guidance of the Controls Supervisor and recommends solutions as needed. An emphasis on development of new control installation and commissioning but is also expected to assist in troubleshooting control, HVAC equipment.

Essential Functions :
Responsible for building custom control panels to print and install DDC components, wiring, and power to panels. Implements, improves, and repairs basic BMS control systems. Assists controls and HVAC personnel in troubleshooting complex building facilities issues. May utilize CAD software to modify or update existing control drawings or schematics. Recommend design modifications to eliminate ma chine or system malfunctions. Conducts preventative maintenance as required. Communicates all information and changes to team members immediately. Demonstrate professional demeanor in all interactions, develop and maintain positive relationships internally and with outside vendors. Meet all deadlines by effectively organizing time and work. Organizes all project documents and data in accordance with Construction and Facilities policies Provides written process guidelines and procedures as required. Works with technical personnel to adapt new technologies or technical systems. Looks for improvements in pre and post analytical processes. Quickly gains knowledge of new technologies to ensure successful implementation of BMS software and DDC controllers and provides training for HVAC crew. Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements :
Stooping:
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility:
The person in this position needs to move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Effective communication skills.
PPE:
Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company/departmental policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures:
To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Climbing:
Using hands and feet to pull oneself upwards, such as using a ladder.
Fine Motor Control:
Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision:
Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as making general observations of depth and distance.
Color Vision:
Perception of and ability to distinguish colors.
Age:
Must be 21 years old.
Valid Utah Driver's License:
1) No moving violations within the previous two years 2) No alcohol/drug-related violations on record with the
Driver's License Division Department of Transportation Medical Card:
Ability to do a physical exam, pass the test, and obtain the card. High School Diploma or Equivalent or better. Associates Degree or better.
