Job Description

High School Job Description:
The BCBA will provide individual and group behavioral services to a caseload of students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges, conduct functional behavioral assessments, train and consult with staff, and collaborate regularly with the School Adjustment Counselor and Principal. The BCBA works under the supervision of the Principal and Director of Pupil Services. The Principal, based on results of an annual performance evaluation, determines consideration for continued employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the PreK-12 classroom setting.
  • Perform casework services with individual children to address deficits in behavioral, emotional or social functioning that impedes their academic and social progress.
  • Provide case management and coordination of behavioral services for identified students.
  • Facilitate Team consultation meetings with classroom teachers/related service providers.
  • Assist in the IEP process by attending meetings, summarizing & analyzing data, and developing measurable goals and objectives.
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Classroom Needs Assessments, and Home Assessments, as needed, that include corresponding reports.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to support staff to implement behavior intervention plans and data collection systems in collaboration with the special ed. teacher
  • Consult with team members regarding IEPs, behavior plans, accommodations, and social challenges.
  • Create and lead staff professional development in relevant skill development.
  • Assess effectiveness of behavior plans.
  • Work effectively with team members, professional and community contacts, school staff, and parents.
  • Consult and assist inclusion teachers in meeting behavioral needs of students in the general education setting.
  • Respond promptly to behavioral crises as need arises.
  • Provide/model interventions to appropriate staff.
  • Collaborate regularly with the School Adjustment Counselor to develop programming options.

Degree Required:
Master's Degree Experience Preferred:

Additional Requirements:
  • Master's Degree required in relevant field (psychology, education, behavior analysis).
  • At least three years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Massachusetts licensure as Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA).
  • Demonstrated successful experience conducting functional behavior assessments (FBA), as well as designing, implementing, and supervising individualized behavior intervention programs.
  • Demonstrated successful experience conducting and presenting behaviorally based skills assessments (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, Skillstreaming).
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
