Body Shop Manager

Full-time May Trucking Company is currently seeking an experienced Body Shop Manager to help establish and oversee a new Class 8 Fleet Body Shop Operation. This role will be instrumental in setting up shop workflows, building a strong technician team, and ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day functions of the Body Shop to ensure efficient operations.
• Assign and prioritize repair work to meet operational timelines.
• Supervise, train, and provide leadership to Body Shop Technicians.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure repairs meet established quality and safety expectations.
• Coordinate with Parts, Vendors, and outside service providers as needed
• Create, review, and manage repair orders from initiation through completion.
• Prepare repair estimates and assist with insurance claims when applicable
• Monitor and uphold shop standards for cleanliness, organization, and workplace safety.
• Ensure labor hours, productivity, and repair costs are closely monitored and effectively managed.
• Coordinate and communicate job status and progress updates with internal departments.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Class 8 Fleet Body Shop Repair
• Previous supervisory or management experience
• Strong knowledge of collision repair, fiberglass, fabrication, welding, and paint processes
• Ability to read and interpret repair estimates
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, but not required)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve effectively

Schedule:

General schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am - 5:00pm, and additional hours as scheduled by supervisor.

Compensation:
