Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL) to join our team. As a Box Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently driving to various locations in Carlsbad and the surrounding area to retrieve & replace shred carts, Gaylord boxes, and bulk shred for document destruction with the assistance of a single individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, you'll have some responsibilities within the warehouse such as forklift operations, material movement, and general clean-up.What You'll Do:
Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and securing of items. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or repair needs. Must be willing to work with individuals with developmental disabilities. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of goods, pedestrians, and other vehicles on the road. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any other required documentation. Resolve any customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle operation, safety, and security Operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks and other material movement devices. Must be physically able to evacuate clients in the event of an emergency, or intervene in the event of physical conflict. Ensure the general cleanliness and safety of the warehouse and CARC property.What Gets You To The Top of The Hiring List:
Must be 21 years or older. Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, ability to meet insurance provider approval. Must have experience driving a box truck or other large commercial vehicles, prefer three years minimum experience. Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions, preferred. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety Ability to work independently and in a team environment Good communication skills with the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner Ability to handle physical demands of the job including lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading items, bending, stooping, or twisting.
