Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Broadband Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-speed fiber optic and telecommunication networks. Your expertise will ensure reliable connectivity for residential and commercial customers, contributing to the seamless operation of broadband services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field, utilizing your technical skills to deliver exceptional service and support the expansion of cutting-edge network infrastructure. Responsibilities Perform fiber splicing and cable termination to establish robust optical connections. Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment including Cisco routers, switches, and Ethernet devices. Conduct network installation activities such as running cabling, connecting telephony systems, and setting up low voltage systems. Utilize hand tools and testing equipment like ohmmeters to verify electrical continuity and signal integrity. Diagnose and resolve issues related to telecommunication systems, Ethernet networks, and mechanical components in the field. Follow safety protocols during all field service activities, ensuring compliance with electrical and telecommunication standards. Document all work performed accurately in service reports and update network diagrams as needed. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or field technician in telecommunication or networking environments. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, network installation, and troubleshooting of Cisco routers and Ethernet systems. Familiarity with telephony systems, cabling techniques, and low voltage wiring practices. Mechanical knowledge related to cable management, enclosures, and hardware installation. Ability to operate hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, and ohmmeters effectively. Strong electrical experience with a focus on low voltage systems and safety procedures. Prior work involving telecommunication infrastructure projects or similar field service roles is highly desirable.
