Job Description

Job Summary The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily truck and grapple operations to ensure efficient material delivery, maximize truck utilization, and support revenue generation. This role requires strong communication with drivers, yard personnel, and management to plan routes, schedule deliveries, and ensure accurate operational reporting. The Dispatcher will maintain the daily dispatch schedule, track loads delivered, and utilize tools such as Samsara for route planning and fleet coordination. Key Responsibilities Daily Dispatch & Driver Coordination Communicate daily dispatch schedules to drivers including delivery locations, material types, and pickup instructions. Coordinate the movement of company trucks to ensure timely deliveries and efficient use of equipment. Monitor driver progress throughout the day and adjust schedules as needed due to delays, traffic, or operational changes. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during the workday. Yard Coordination & Material Availability Communicate regularly with yard personnel to understand available materials for sale and current inventory levels. Schedule truck deliveries based on available materials in the yard. Coordinate loading schedules to minimize driver wait times and maximize daily throughput. Revenue Optimization Plan daily delivery schedules with the goal of maximizing truck utilization and revenue generation. Prioritize deliveries and material movement that support higher-value product sales. Coordinate efficient routing to increase loads per truck per day. Grapple Truck Scheduling Plan and manage the daily schedule for grapple truck operations. Coordinate pickups with customers and ensure trucks are routed efficiently. Schedule backhauls when possible so trucks delivering material can return with inbound material to maximize efficiency. Load Tracking & Operational Reporting Maintain a Load Log documenting all loads delivered and hauled each day. Ensure accurate recording of truck/driver, material type, customer/location, volume (yards or loads), and date/time. Ensure data accuracy so the information can be used for operational reporting and performance tracking. Route Planning & Fleet Technology Utilize Samsara for route planning, GPS tracking, and fleet coordination. Monitor truck locations and adjust routes when necessary to improve efficiency. Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce drive time and improve daily productivity.
Qualifications / Requirements
Experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation coordination, or construction/industrial operations preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple drivers and schedules simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for maintaining operational logs, tracking loads, and supporting internal reporting. Experience using Samsara or similar fleet management software for route planning, GPS tracking, and dispatch coordination. Ability to maintain accurate operational records including load logs and dispatch schedules. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with operational data. Ability to make real-time adjustments to dispatch schedules in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Comfortable communicating with drivers, yard personnel, and management throughout the day.
