Yes Department Details Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented candidate to join our Physician Billing team. We value candidates who are accustomed to prioritizing tasks, are comfortable utilizing computers, and have great customer service skills. We offer one-on-one training, day shifts, great work-life balance, and a comprehensive benefits package. We have flexible scheduling with four 10-hour weekday shifts, no work on recognized holidays, and the ability for you to choose your own start time (between 6am-8am CST). Our hybrid schedule includes one potential day onsite each week; however, this position will likely work fully remote in the near future. 12+ hours in 1 day or 40+ hours in 1 work week Summary The Physician Biller processes assigned accounts, identifies and resolves complex billing and collection problems, and tracks progress of assigned accounts until they are ultimately collected within timely guidelines. Job Description Responsibilities include meeting monthly cash collection A/R goals. Resolves credit balances within the established guidelines. Prepare and submit claims to primary, secondary and tertiary insurance companies and follow-up to collect submitted claims. Establish payment arrangements, collect delinquent accounts along with follow up to ensure payment or forward to collections per policy. Keep accounts correct and current by submitting appropriate payment adjustment requests. Remains current on all pertinent policy and procedure requirements and acts proactively to share information with fellow employees. Take initiative, exercise good judgment and demonstrate resourcefulness in problem solving. Effectively prioritize and organize multiple tasks. Utilize computer information systems accurately and timely. Audit charts to assess appropriate reimbursement. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions. Qualifications High School/General Education Diploma 1 year of medical billing, customer service, and computer experience or postsecondary degree/certification in medical billing or related field. Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality while resolving billing issues.
