We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized Billing Specialist to support our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our billing and practice management processes. This position is ideal for someone with medical billing experience who enjoys problem-solving, working with technology, and collaborating with a team to improve operational performance. Position Summary The Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting our revenue cycle operations by managing claim follow-up activities, maintaining billing and provider data, troubleshooting billing issues, and assisting with insurance credentialing and practice management system administration. Schedule & Location This is a part-time, in-office position based in our Wallingford, CT location, working approximately 20 hours per week. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience Experience with insurance claims, EOBs, claim corrections, and payer follow-up Familiarity with electronic medical records or practice management systems Knowledge of insurance billing processes and revenue cycle workflows Experience maintaining provider credentialing information Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently Preferred Qualifications Experience in pediatric therapy, rehabilitation, or outpatient healthcare Understanding of CPT coding and medical billing terminology Experience working with insurance portals and provider enrollment systems Primary ResponsibilitiesRevenue Cycle & Billing Support Monitor and follow up on outstanding insurance claims Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to identify and resolve claim discrepancies Perform and assist with claim corrections, updates, and resubmissions Investigate and resolve billing-related service tickets Assist with patient balance monitoring and aging reports Support implementation of new revenue cycle procedures and workflows Coordinate claim follow-up activities with internal and external billing partners EMR Administration Upload documents and supporting records Maintain referral source information Add and update users, providers, and system data Maintain designated EMR tables and demographic information Ensure data accuracy within the practice management system Insurance & Credentialing Support Maintain CAQH provider profiles Complete routine insurance portal updates Verify provider demographic information with payers Maintain payer roster information and provider records Operational Support Develop a strong understanding of the practice's billing workflows to investigate and resolve service ticket issues Collaborate with internal staff to ensure timely resolution of billing concerns Assist with process improvements that enhance billing efficiency and accuracy Perform other related administrative and operational duties as assigned What We Offer Part-time, in-office schedule (20 hours per week) in Wallingford, CT Flexible work environment Collaborative and supportive team culture Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational excellence Meaningful work supporting children and families throughout
