As a Pharmacy Billing Specialist, the employee processes claims (billing and collection) online to health insurance carriers for the cost of pharmaceuticals furnished to patients who are covered by health insurance policies and have received treatment at the facility. The incumbent also provides claim processing for non-beneficiaries who receive medical services at the facility. As a Pharmacy Billing Specialist, the employee receives medication orders, interprets the orders, calculates and compounds the dosage, and dispenses the medications. What will you will need to succeed: Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish) Minimum of one-year experience in pharmacy billing services Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD.9 codes Ability to interpret billing procedures and changes and assimilate information to computer. Data Entry Ability to input information quickly and accurately. Ability to organize and reconcile data. Ability to analyze and improve billing procedures required. Strong understanding and knowledge of medical/clinical and pharmacy terminology. Working knowledge of personal computers, and business software such as Microsoft Office.
