Responsibilities Review and verify patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness for billing purposes Assign appropriate codes using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications to facilitate precise billing and reimbursement Prepare and submit healthcare claims electronically using billing software and EMR/EHR (Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records) systems Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts, resolving discrepancies and appealing as needed Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities, including claim status updates and payment postings Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding issues that impact billing accuracy Stay current with changes in healthcare claims management, health insurance policies, and medical coding standards to ensure compliance Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare claims processing Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and ICD coding practices Experience with medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers Familiarity with health insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical collection procedures Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for billing purposes Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to medical coding and billing compliance Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist if you're passionate about accuracy, efficiency, and supporting quality healthcare delivery.
