In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing, coding, and revenue cycle processes exclusively for dental services from your home office. This position is 100% remote , and your daily tasks will focus entirely on business-to-business communications with dental insurance companies rather than patient-facing phone calls. Your expertise will ensure the accurate and timely submission of claims to dental insurance providers, helping to streamline operations and improve cash flow. Fully Remote Responsibilities Insurance Communication:
Handle all phone calls, portals, and correspondence strictly with dental insurance companies to verify details and resolve claims; no direct patient collections or phone support required.
Claim Submission & Coding:
Prepare, review, and submit dental insurance claims using appropriate CDT (Current Dental Terminology) dental codes.
Eligibility & Benefits:
Check and verify patient dental coverage, insurance benefits, and procedure eligibility prior to appointments.
Insurance Data Entry:
Accurately enter and update patient dental insurance information and plan breakdowns in the practice management software.
Account Review:
Conduct routine dental account reviews to ensure accurate ledger documentation of procedures and treatments for billing purposes.
Payments Posting:
Post payments accurately from insurance electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and Explanations of Benefits (EOBs).
Denials & Appeals:
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating directly with dental insurance providers to appeal denials and resolve issues efficiently.
Compliance & Records:
Maintain comprehensive dental and financial records while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards (HIPAA).
Skills & Qualifications Dental Coding Expertise:
High proficiency in dental-specific billing and coding using the CDT coding system .
Software Knowledge:
Experience with major dental practice management software is highly preferred; knowledge of Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental is a strong plus .
Remote Experience:
Proactive self-starter capable of managing accounts receivable (AR) and resolving ledger discrepancies independently from a home office.
Communication:
Excellent professional communication skills specifically tailored for negotiating and resolving issues with dental insurance providers.
Dental Terminology:
