Billing Specialist-Self Pay

Job Description

Hours:
8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

The Accounting Technician responsible for the billing and collections process for private-pay patients and other financial accounts will post payments and prepare deposits while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy through the application of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial counseling to patients Posting self-pay paymentsCompleting and sending deposit sheets for payments Reviewing credits on accounts Submitting refund requests as needed Updating estimated charges
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of billing experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipmentKnowledge of accounting principles and related data processing equipmentGeneral knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payor regulations, processes and proceduresKnowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment Ability to understand and follow oral and written directionsPossess ability to establish and follow detailed work proceduresAbility to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy Our MissionTo improve individual and community health through services, education, and collaborative action.
