POSITION SUMMARY

The Oncology Certification Specialist is responsible for evaluating patient insurance benefits and coordinating coverage for oral oncology medications. This role serves as a liaison between pharmacists, providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure accurate verification of benefits, prior authorization completion, and financial assistance coordination. The Specialist confirms insurance coverage and payment arrangements before prescriptions are ordered or dispensed. When patients lack adequate coverage, the Specialist identifies and facilitates access to external financial aid programs based on eligibility.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent, required Experience in a medical office, pharmacy, oncology practice, or insurance verification role, preferred Knowledge of prior authorization processes, specialty pharmacy workflows, or oncology medications is beneficial
