Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION
To aid staff in processing and administering state and federal mandated programs as efficiently and effectively as possible by performing clerical assignments requiring a degree of independent judgment and knowledge of agency procedures and practices.
WORK PERFORMED/JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform as an office support staff member professionally, receiving all clients and visitors, and knowing the value of initial contact with the agency. Use time productively by assisting with all office support duties. Manage income and outgoing mail. Manage all facets of the EBT card system. Manage agency forms/packets inventory. Maintain organization of specific storage and supply rooms. Perform general office support for the entire agency, including Public Health, WIC, IMU, Child Support, Social Services, and Transportation in a productive, efficient manner. Contribute to the agency-wide team process of service delivery. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to type, good use of English, good proof-reading skills/spelling, and display organizational skills. Knowledge of agency, workers, and programs involved; ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a helpful, tactful manner in dealing with clients/public/staff; understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions; make minor decisions in accordance with precedents and regulations, and apply these to work situations; ability to maintain respectful and effective working relationships.
MINIMUM TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR CERTIFICATIONS
Three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience or experience working with the public. Must possess a valid driver's license.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Sedentary to light physical activities requiring stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and close vision. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 35 pounds. Typically in an office environment.
HOURLY RANGE
$26.34-$34.53
