Position:

Legal Secretary (Part-Time)

Location:

Jackson, CA (Amador County)

Schedule:

Approximately 3 days per week, 8 hours per day (about 24 hours per week). Days are flexible. We are willing to work around a child's school schedule. Our law firm seeks a dependable part-time Legal Secretary. The right person will keep the office running smoothly, handle documents with care, and represent the firm professionally with clients and others. Prior legal-secretary experience is welcome but not required . We will consider candidates with limited experience provided they demonstrate punctuality, reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness and ability to learn. These qualities are more important than experience.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare, format, proofread, and organize correspondence, pleadings, and other documents Convert, combine, bookmark, and redact PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Create and maintain files, calendars, and basic spreadsheets Answer phones, greet visitors, and communicate clearly with clients, courts, and vendors Perform internet research and handle routine online filings, email, and document retrieval Support attorneys with scheduling, filing, and general administrative tasks Maintain confidentiality and a professional office environment Required qualifications: Working familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Excel Strong internet skills Excellent interpersonal skills and clear, professional writing Ability to work independently and follow through without constant supervision Preferred (not required) Experience as a legal secretary, paralegal assistant, administrative assistant, office manager, executive assistant, or similar role Comfort with court or government websites, scanning/e-filing, or document management systems Compensation and time off: Pay is competitive and based on experience. Part-time employees receive paid time off.
