This full-time, on-site position plays a vital role in supporting our attorneys and other staff throughout all phases of the litigation process as well as serving as a key point of coordination for healthcare clients, experts, courts, and other legal teams. Responsibilities Handle state/federal e-filings, prepare court pleadings, and organize discovery materials Coordinate litigation schedules, including depositions, hearings, expert meetings, and trial preparation activities Schedule multi-party meetings, interviews, and depositions Manage, organize, and maintain documents our electronic filing system Set up new clients and matters in the case management system Assess and docket scheduling order deadlines and trial schedules Order and process voluminous medical records and discovery responses Communicate regularly with clients, witnesses, other law offices, and court staff Format, proofread, and revise correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents Provide general administrative assistance to attorneys and other staff Experience 2+ years of experience supporting attorneys and paralegals in litigation or a similar professional services role Associate or bachelor's degree in legal or paralegal studies or equivalent experience Knowledge of legal procedures, e.g., the Michigan Court Rules governing motions and discovery High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook, and experience with Excel and Power Point. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor Ability to work as a part of a collaborative and collegial team Ability to work overtime on a rare but as needed basis (e.g., during trial) The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. You should be interested in perfecting your skills, feel comfortable asking questions, and be willing to learn. Our staff are paid competitive salaries commensurate with experience. Litigation Assistants are also eligible to participate in the usual benefit package, including paid PTO, medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and may participate in our retirement plan. Downtown parking is provided by the firm.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
