Jefferson City, MO (on-site) Position Summary The Legal Secretary/Paralegal will provide administrative and legal support to the Company's legal, human resources, and management teams. This position will assist with legal research, document preparation, contract administration, litigation support, workers' compensation matters, employment law compliance, records management, and general legal department operations. The role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with the preparation, review, and management of legal documents, correspondence, agreements, and reports. Maintain and organize legal files, records, contracts, and corporate documents. Conduct legal and regulatory research related to employment law, workers' compensation, safety, labor relations, and business operations. Monitor legal deadlines and maintain calendar reminders for contracts, litigation matters, claims, and compliance requirements. Prepare summaries of legal research, regulations, and case developments. Assist in responding to subpoenas, legal requests, audits, and government inquiries. Track and maintain company licenses, permits, registrations, and compliance filings. Assist with employment-related matters including personnel investigations, disciplinary actions, policy administration, and compliance initiatives. Support the Director of Legal Support with workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, leave administration, and employment documentation. Maintain confidentiality of employee, medical, and personnel information. Assist in updating employee handbooks, policies, forms, and procedures. Track federal, state, and local employment law developments affecting company operations. Coordinate communication with outside legal counsel, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and government agencies. Gather records, exhibits, witness information, and supporting documentation for legal matters. Dictation Coordinate contract execution and document retention. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, legal secretary, legal assistant, or related position preferred. Experience supporting employment law, corporate, labor, workers' compensation, or litigation matters preferred. Manufacturing or multi-state employer experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document preparation. Understanding of employment law, workers' compensation, and HR compliance practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work. Ability to occasionally lift and move files or office materials up to 20 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.
