Job Description

Job Responsibilities We are looking for an Attorney Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting attorneys and legal staff. The Attorney Assistant will have excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional who can work independently while also contributing effectively to a team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The responsibilities for an Attorney Assistant may include one or more of the following: Provide administrative and legal support to assigned attorneys. Manage and organize attorney calendars, appointments, deadlines, and meetings. Prepare, format, proofread, and revise correspondence, pleadings, legal documents, and other materials as directed. Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files. Assist with electronic filing of pleadings and other legal documents with courts and other applicable agencies. Monitor case deadlines, hearings, appointments, and other important dates. Process incoming mail, email, and legal documents; distribute and/or upload documents as appropriate. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, attorneys, vendors, and other interested parties. Answer and direct telephone calls and provide assistance to clients and other callers in a professional manner. Assist attorneys with document preparation, case organization, and other administrative tasks. Prepare, organize, and maintain case-related correspondence and documentation. Assist with gathering information and documentation needed for legal matters. Enter and maintain accurate information in applicable case management and client databases. Assist with billing, time entry, expense documentation, and other administrative processes as assigned. Track and follow up on outstanding documents, requests, correspondence, and other case-related matters. Electronic Filing with counties Maintain confidentiality of client information and firm records. Perform research and other tasks as directed by the attorney. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Strong command of the English language, both oral and written. Commitment to maintaining a professional and confidential work environment. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Business school, legal studies certificate, or Associate's Degree preferred. 2-3 years of experience working in a law firm or legal environment preferred. Previous experience providing administrative or legal support beneficial. Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screen, if required.
