Experienced Medical Insurance Biller & Credentialing Specialist Full-Time | Multi-Location Optometry Practice We are seeking an experienced Medical Insurance Biller & Credentialing Specialist to join our growing multi-location optometry practice. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and has extensive knowledge of medical insurance billing, claim resolution, payment posting, and provider credentialing. If you have a proven track record of maximizing insurance reimbursement and enjoy solving claim issues from start to finish, we'd like to meet you. Responsibilities Submit electronic medical insurance claims accurately and timely. Review, reconcile, and follow up on outstanding insurance claims. Research, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims. Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient credits accurately. Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing and payment issues. Analyze explanation of benefits (EOBs) and identify reimbursement discrepancies. Credential and recredential providers with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers. Maintain provider enrollment records and monitor credentialing deadlines. Work closely with providers and office staff to improve reimbursement and reduce claim denials. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of recent medical insurance billing experience. Minimum 2 years of provider credentialing experience. Experience filing electronic medical claims from submission through payment. Strong knowledge of claim follow-up, appeals, denials, and payment reconciliation. Experience posting insurance payments and balancing accounts. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing. Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
