Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Coder and Biller, where your expertise will be vital in accurately translating medical documentation into standardized codes and ensuring seamless billing processes. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing revenue cycle management, supporting efficient insurance claim processing, and maintaining precise medical records. Your attention to detail and knowledge of coding guidelines will directly impact the financial health of our organization and the quality of patient care. Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records, including inpatient and outpatient documentation, to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes according to current medical coding guidelines. Ensure accurate coding for all services rendered, including complex inpatient services, outpatient procedures, and diagnostic tests. Prepare and submit insurance claims utilizing billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with health insurance policies and third-party billing requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or incomplete records for precise coding. Manage the revenue cycle by tracking claim status, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and facilitating timely payments. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding updates, and insurance regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards. Support the organization's medical collection efforts by verifying patient information and processing payments as needed. Experience Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting, preferably with exposure to both inpatient and outpatient environments. Strong familiarity with
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding systems, as well as DRG classification for inpatient services. Proficiency in using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, and revenue cycle management tools. Knowledge of health insurance claim processing procedures and third-party billing practices. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding guidelines to ensure accurate documentation. Pay:
$22.35 - $26.91 per hour
