The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with medical billing regulations. This role plays a crucial part in the revenue cycle management of our medical practice, ensuring that all services rendered are billed correctly and efficiently. Ask us for more information! Duties Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage before billing. Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other relevant coding systems. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with billing. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding billing inquiries. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients as needed. Qualifications Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, and billing processes is essential. Experience with medical records management and knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems is preferred. Familiarity with medical office systems and electronic health record (EHR) software is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Previous experience in medical billing or coding is highly desirable but not mandatory.
